Resolved Question: Question about chicago blue line (clinton stop)?

I'm going to be walking from the greyhound bus stop (on W harrison I believe?) to the Clinton stop on the blue line to go to O'Hare... this will be at 6-6:30am (aka nighttime). I'm a small pale girl from Iowa... should I have a cab take me to the stop? I'm also trying to find the station on google map street view and having issues so... Also, when I get in the station where do I get a ticket? I read it was $2.25 exact fare but I don't know if I have to buy a ticket from a machine or just pay somebody on the train.
